Over the holidays we don't forget

Coming to a break for a week or so.

A time when we retreat to spend with those close whilst everyday mindful of people we work with who don't have that privilege.

Take care over the holiday period, keep warm, be safe and look towards January as the start of something new...

Thanks for a small grant from Comic Relief!

With thanks ot Comic Relief Local Community Cash for a small grant of £5,000 towards keeping our Art Therapy and Social Development Support programme running over the next 12 months.

But we've not settled yet. There is still over £20,000 to raise for 2017 support delivery and we'd love your help with this.

Busy Mondays with our wonderful start of the week volunteers!

Rachael and Urbain SOLA's volunteers on a mission this Monday fundraising and sorting out our new website (to become public in February fingers crossed).

Well Racahel has volunteered with us some years ago through her music and tutoring skills and we are really happy to have Rachael back with us in a new volunteer role as supporting fundraiser! Rachael gets to develop her fundraising and bid writing skills and we get help with the one important thing we don't often have time to do!

Urbain has been working on our new look website that will be linked to this blog. Urbain has never used Adobe Muse or designed a website with such a programme yet is bringing in his design and creative initiative and talent to make this into a great project. We are looking forward to seeing it live on the web in the early months of 2017.

Thanks to you both for all your support!!!!

this week's Art Group- everyone wanted to share...

Great Art Group today. Lots of discussion around emotions, fear, sadness and laughter & the meaning of connecting with others; inspired by a joke set of chattering teeth and a camera that squirts water!

Our Art Therapy programmes take on various models and the relaxed infomral Tuesday Art Group with Art Therapist support is a supportive positive space for adults to come together, share and belong whilst working through social anxiety and isolation.

Kenneth's poem

John's springing surpirse frog

Debbie's cuddly crocodiles

Rosaria's inspired pattern

Shiela's beautiful summer and autumn inspired silk scarf

An award for SOLA ARTS from MOWLL

Wonderful meeting today with Moving On With Life and Learning- planning a new partnership project to raise funding for. Also got an Award for our work supporting MOWLL which is splendiferous!

How wonderful to be part of the Ideas Worth Fighting For exhibition at the People's History Museum, Manchester

The Welcoming Banner produced by SOLA ARTS participants back in 2006 commissioned as part of a happening art piece by Humberto Velez for Liverpool Biennial and is being exhibited this month at The People's History Museum as part of an exhibition that Artist Humberto Velez is involved with.
