All In One Studio update

The studio group is getting stronger and stronger by the week, volunteers understanding more about their roles and people feeling more able to own the space on a Friday.

We are now preparing for the All In One Studio development course starting April supported by WEA and ESF funding.

How to get involved

If you are a refugee and/or a Liverpool resident creatively inpired but find yourself isolated socially or find being in social situations a challenge, then the All In One Studio may be the right place for you to start a new journey with creativity in your life.

Thanks to ESF for funding towards our All In One Studio

We found out a week or so ago that the commitment and efforts by volunteers and members of the All In One Studio at SOLA ARTS held in our attic room upstairs has resulted in a successful funding bid to the European Social Fund to deliver a 9 month employability project. Yippie!

The project will be to support learning and skills development, mentoring and personal development for people from BME, refugee and disadvantaged backgrounds who are either isolated or vulnerbale to mental health difficulties and have been long term unemployed.

Supported by an Art Psychotherapist & Creative Skills Support, Volunter Mentor, Learning Mentors and action planning Personal Development Social Worker the project aims to support 12 core learners and 30 other learners to develop their skills, explore their talents and work towards setting up the studio as a cooperative model.

It's really exciting!!!

With thanks to the Workers Educational Association North West for administering the grant and supporting us through the project :-)

The first meeting for contributors and partners interested in delivering an activity during the month long programme is at SOLA ARTS on Monday 20th Feb 2017 1pm.

If you want to get invovled send Karen an email festival31.2014@gmail.com

OR check our the wbesite for info www.festival31.com

Very grateful for our volunteer support

Remembering Lisa and Urbain volunteers preparing training diaries for the 'Create' Arts Therapies Erasmus+ funded project 2 weeks ago.

Urbain worked hard with Lead Art Psychotherapist Adele to design and produce the diaries.

Lisa and Urbain guided us all in getting the diaries made up and ready for the therapies based training launch of the therapies delivery focus for the Create project in action.

Great work people!

Seeking 2 new Trustees

We are seeking 2 new Trustees. Could you fill the role?

Committed to mental wellbeing, inclusion and empowerment?

Could you be our new Trustee?
SOLA ARTS is a small participant-led community arts charity based in Liverpool. We specialise in working with marginalised people through arts and creative opportunity as a way of bringing people and communities together, empowering and supporting positive health & wellbeing.
We are the lead refugee arts agency in Merseyside and run the only specialist Art Psychotherapy dedicated provision in the region.
However, our expertise also covers working with people from minority communities vulnerable to or living with mental health difficulties, the elderly, disabled people, disadvantaged people, destitute people, and people generally vulnerable due to social or cultural barriers.
SOLA ARTS is recognised locally for our work with mental health and integration through creativity and the arts, Art Psychotherapy, social & development support, skilling up and integration for people from refugee and BAME backgrounds.
We value people and seek to empower individuals and communities. We are inspired by and aim to inspire others as to the benefits of creativity for therapeutic benefit and social engagement.
We are currently looking for new Trustees who can add value and opportunity to our team. We are particularly but not exclusively interested in people with a background in community investment, finance, schools based provision, business, marketing, or fundraising.
If you are interested, please contact Trustees Adele, Lee or Dom at SOLA ARTS via info@solaarts.org or 07832232849 / 0151 726 8440
